Miller established herself as a successful New York fashion model in the 1920s. During the 30s she pursued her own interests in surrealist photography. During WWII she worked as a photojournalist as the official photographer for Vogue. Her coverage of the London Blitz, the liberation of Paris, the concentration camps of Dachau and Buchenwald, as well as others, won her high acclaim.
