Photograph by Dutchman Richard Polak (1870-1956). Polak bought an old house in 1914 and filled it with 17th century furniture for photographing recreations of Dutch interior paintings, especially those of de Hooch and Vermeer. These images were published in a portfolio entitled ‘Photographs from Life in Old Dutch Costume’.
