This pictures portrays the railway accident at Montparnasse Station in Paris, 1895. The train departed with a delay of nine minutes, therefore the machinist, who wanted to arrive on time to Montparnasse, threw the train at full speed. Because of this, when he arrived at the station, the train could not restrain.
